What's next?
Water vapor in air or environmental samples has been an issue since stationary source testing and ambient air monitoring technologies were developed, starting in the 1950’s through the 1970’s and even up to today. Most technologies over the years have developed methodologies that deal with water, but all have limitations (such as sample size, sample flow and analyte acceptability). Infrared-based technologies, which have expanded significantly in the last 25 years, look around the water absorption to quantify analytes and toxics.
EVT is focused on developing next-generation sample conditioning equipment that reduces the water from percent levels to a few thousand ppm level without affecting the concentration of critical analytes. EVT’s technology allows for lower moisture concentrations and higher flow rates than traditional chiller technologies without the need for significant cooling systems. Our innovation allows samples to be conditioned at the source and delivered to any analytical measurement technology without the need for active heating of the entire sampling system. This will reduce the cost of deployed equipment by $10,000s for both stationary source testing and continuous emissions monitoring (CEMs) and significantly reduce the operating costs and maintenance.
Unlike most disruptive technologies, our technology doesn’t require the source tester or CEM operator to give up any performance, as our technology is a drop-in replacement for their current chiller system but with a much higher flow level at much lower moisture.
